Sara Naftaly - Silversmith
Sara Naftaly makes original handmade Judaica in silver and copper. With a painter's eye and a craftsman's touch, she creates items designed to enhance and beautify the Jewish ritual experience. Combining colour, texture and flowing form, Sara's work brings new meaning to our ancient symbols.
Each piece is made individually by hand, designed for practical use and adheres to the highest halakhic standards.
Sara was born in England, where she acquired a B.A (Hons) degree in silversmithing from London's Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. Later she taught her craft at Jerusalem's world famous Betzalel Academy.
Over the years she has made custom pieces of work for clients around the world, from small pendants to seder plates and hanukiyot.
Since moving to Israel sixteen years ago Sara has lived with her husband Aryeh, a musician and carpenter, and their four children in the village of Mevo Modi'im, a small moshav (communal village) in the heart of the Ben Shemen forest in central Israel.
Sara gives classes for children and adults at her studio, as well as in the surrounding area.
